Douglas County I-25 Crash Today – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident Closes Northbound Lanes Near Castle Pines
DOUGLAS COUNTY, COLORADO — A deadly multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 in Douglas County caused major traffic disruptions Friday afternoon as emergency crews responded to a serious collision involving three vehicles near the Happy Canyon Road exit.
According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), the crash occurred at approximately 1:23 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-25 between Castle Rock and Castle Pines. Authorities confirmed that three vehicles were involved in the collision: a white Audi Q5, a blue Toyota Highlander, and a gray Chevy Equinox.
Troopers reported that one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Officials have not yet released the identities of those involved, and the total number of occupants in each vehicle remains unknown as the investigation continues.
Following the crash, northbound Interstate 25 was shut down between Exit 182 at Wilcox Street in Castle Rock and Exit 188 at Castle Pines Parkway.
